A 15-year-old charged in connection with the deadly Bite of Seattle shooting has been released from juvenile detention and placed on electronic home monitoring, a judge ruled October 21.

The teen faces charges of first-degree assault with a firearm enhancement and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. Prosecutors are seeking to have him tried as an adult.

The July 26 shooting at Seattle Center killed three people and injured four others. Investigators believe multiple shooters were involved.

New ballistic evidence has become an important part of the case. FOX 13 reported that the teen’s gun was excluded as the source of bullets that killed two of the victims, while other evidence remains under review. The judge also said the defense had presented a credible self-defense claim.

The teenager must remain under adult supervision, attend school, follow electronic monitoring requirements and stay away from Seattle Center and people involved in the case.

Because he is a minor, REAL B is not publishing his name.
